QCS_185 Norfolk Trotter “Gravel Study #1” s/sided recycled C120 (edition of 14)
Raw, dynamic, and uncompromising Harsh Noise Wall crafted from playing a 7” loose gravel disc at 33 RPM on a cheap turntable. This method was briefly explored in 2020 resulting in the limited-edition CS Wall Noise For Gravel 7″ Single. Gravel Study #1 takes a more methodical approach, further refining this technique in HNW creation.
Check out this YouTube short of this in action (the original video was uploaded to my Instagram page):
Every copy was recorded directly from the turntable/gravel disc and pedal chain to cassette, all 14 feature a slightly different wall varying in texture and tone (utilising the same sound source and fx). FYI: The digital version featured on Bandcamp is taken from copy number two, due to the upload restrictions the original 60-minute track was split into two 30-minute segments.
Black & white artwork is printed onto light blue paper. Each branded recycled cassette tape features colour labels and the original contents on the B-side.
